FULL LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS AND INFO

  • OPEN AND REVIEW YOUR BALLOT ASAP!

Don’t wait! Take time now to learn about the candidates and get your ballot mailed back EARLY!

  • SIGN THE BACK OF THE RETURN ENVELOPE!

After you’ve carefully marked your ballot (filling in circles completely with a dark colored pen), finish voting by placing your ballot into the “secrecy envelope” and then into the return envelope. Seal the return envelope and sign in the box provided on the back of the envelope. Your vote will not be counted without that signature. DON’T FORGET TO SIGN!

  • PROVIDE YOUR CONTACT INFO ON THE ENVELOPE

Fill in your email address and phone number in the space provided on the envelope so that the Elections Department can inform you of any problem with your ballot. This will save time and ensure that you get the information while there is still time to get your vote counted!

  • MAIL YOUR BALLOT BACK EARLY!!!  AT LEAST 10 DAYS EARLY!

Mail your ballot back before Early Voting even begins! The sooner the better!

Put your ballot in the mail no later than 10 days BEFORE Election Day.

No stamp needed, it’s FREE!

IF IT IS WITHIN 10 DAYS OF ELECTION DAY, DO NOT DROP IN THE MAIL!  Ballots not RECEIVED by 7pm on Election Day will not be counted.

Instead use the mail ballot secure drop-box* at Early Voting locations around the county.

MAILING BACK EARLY MEANS MORE TIME TO ENSURE YOUR VOTE IS COUNTED!

*NOTE: Drop Boxes are only available at Early Voting locations during Early Voting days/hours - NOT at your precinct on Election Day.

  • CONFIRM YOUR BALLOT WAS RECEIVED AND COUNTED

Go to: www.CheckMyBallot.miami to see your voter file. There, it will show that your mail ballot was requested, then mailed to you by the Elections Department, marked as received, and finally, that your vote was counted. If you voted in-person, it will also indicate where and when you cast your vote. (NOTE: The system may take a day or two to update.)

  • FIX YOUR BALLOT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM

If you get an email or call from the Elections Department, or you check your ballot online (www.CheckMyBallot.miami) and you see a message regarding a missing or mismatched signature, follow the instructions to get the issue “cured” before Election Day. Changes in the law now give you until 2 days after Election Day to cure a mail ballot. Don’t wait. Be proactive!
